Adoption Information

Adoption Fee

The adoption fee for a Jazzmania Ragdoll kitten is $1350. The fee includes everything your kitten needs for the first year of life. Your kitten will already be spayed/neutered with state of the art anesthetic and surgical protocols. This is non-negotiable. All necessary vaccines and dewormings will be complete. Your kitten will also have had a physical by my vet – he will provide a health certificate for each kitten. A health guarantee by contract is also provided as well as the registration paperwork from TICA should you wish to formally register your kitten. A $100 discount is offered on the adoption of a second kitten.

Non-Refundable Deposit

PLEASE NOTE: Deposits are accepted only AFTER the Adoption Application is completed and approved. A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required to join the wait list and will, of course, be deducted from the total adoption fee. Deposits are non-refundable because we turn away other inquiries once the wait list is full. You may use the “Buy Now” button on the Deposit page. The funds may come out of a bank account or credit card on your end if you do not have a PayPal account. Alternatively, if you prefer to mail a check or money order, mailing info will be provided. The balance is due at pick-up. Cash is preferred but a check or money order is acceptable as well. I do reserve the right to return your deposit if I feel your family is not a good match for a Jazzmania kitten.

Waitlist

Due to the ongoing demand for Ragdoll kittens, there is almost always a wait list for the kittens. Deposits are accepted to join the wait list only after kittens are born so that clients do not have to wait years to adopt a kitten. Once an application is accepted and a deposit is made, you should be able to adopt within several months.

Shipping & Driving Distance

Kittens will not be shipped under any circumstances. Additionally, it's preferable for clients to be within a 2-hour drive from my location to ensure a smooth and stress-free journey to the kitten's new home.

How You'll Be Matched With Your Kitten

When kittens are about 8 weeks old, they will be assessed to confirm colors, patterns, and personalities. When your name comes up on the wait list (based on order of deposit), you will be contacted with pictures and personality descriptions. It is important that a kitten’s personality is a good match with your family and your lifestyle. If you prefer a kitten other than those available or if the timing is not good for you to adopt, you may opt to wait for a future litter.

Picking Up Your Kitten

An appointment will be scheduled when the kittens are ready at 12 weeks of age. Due to ongoing Covid variants, in-home visits have been discontinued. We have renovated an area specifically for the purpose of greeting those who are picking up their kittens. It’s unfortunate that circumstances have changed but it is important for your safety as well as for the safety of Jazzmania’s cats and kittens. You may bring your family along to the pick-up appointment but it is requested that only two members come into the reception area. Thanks for your understanding.

Our association continues after you adopt your kitten and follow-up is extremely important. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail at any time. In fact, I specifically request at least one follow-up to be sure that your kitten is well-adjusted and happy (as well as you!) Updates and pictures are welcome in the coming months and years.
